Memorial website in the memory of your loved one
This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Bryan William Dunlap, Jr. who was born in California on April 30, 1979 and passed away on November 30, 2005 at the age of 26. We will remember him forever. Bryan Loved music and was a very good guitar player. He came by it naturally and his Dad passed the talent on to him. He LOVED to skateboard and probably would have until he was 126 years old. He LOVED his family and friends and was a loyal friend. He did'nt like to hear anyone talk negatively about another human being and was kind to others. He Loved animals and video games and movies and going to the swap meet with his angel Jen. He was a hard worker. He was in the gate program at school because he was very intelligent. His teacher said he was very articulate. He was thoughtful and caring and very funny and made his friends laugh all the time at his expense. We wish we still had him and Jen with us but that is so selfish because to be absent from the world is to be present with God. Rest in Peace My Son. Your worldly body has been traded in for a new, better, spiritual one; no pain, no suffering, no tears. I will see You when the Lord calls for me.

Dear Norman Greenbaum,

I wanted to tell you a story about my son that involves your song. My son Bryan and his fiancee’ Jennifer were killed in a tragic car accident on the 30th of November 2005. On his birthday April 30th 2006 his friends arranged a skydiving party for him. A lot of them including his sister Amanda jumped out of a perfectly good plane. It was thrilling and a great tribute to a beautiful spirit. They both were. On April 29th my mom was thinking of them and prayed and asked Bryan to give her a sign that he was ok. The next morning (Bryan’s Birthday), My Pops got up and turned on his country station as he does every morning. The station switched to a rock station. This happened several times and my Mom and Pops were perplexed as there has never been a problem with the country station before. The last time it switched to the Rock station your song “Spirit in the
Sky” came on the rock station. It was then that my Mom realized the reason for the switching of the station; it was Bryan letting her know that he was with Jesus and OK. I told the people at the Taft skydiving port and they all got chills. And Yes the station stayed on the country station after your song played. Thank You for writing a beautiful spiritual song. God Bless You and your family.
Love,
The Dunlap Family
Barbara (Bry’s Mom)

His legacy
No truer friend
When you were Bryans friend it was forever. He was forgiving and most of his friends considered him their best friend. He'd skate all day long, was always up for it and forgot about everything else when he was doing it. Bryan was the kind of guy that made everyone laugh. Even his teachers would say to me, "You know Bryan finishes his test and then starts disturbing everyone around him but I can't help but laugh because He is so funny." He loved extreme sports; snowboarding, dirt bikes, motocross, just about anything that involved taking a chance. Pushing the limits. He stood out in the crowd. He would come to the aid of a friend and defend a friend at any cost to him. Like Amanda said" He had a tough exterior but was a marshmallow on the inside." Jennifer called him her "Quishie". She brought out the good in him. He brought out the good in her. Several of his friends got tatoos to honor him. That's permanent devotion. He would always say "Skate or Die."He was a Loving son and friend and brother and cousin and anything he tried to do he was good at. He learned so fast. I don't know how he did the video games so well because I can't get to the first level. He got that from his dad I guess. God Bless You Son. Love you infinity and beyond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
